Bird

As I sat by the canal halfway through my morning J, a cool summer’s breeze brushed against my skin and you came along.

The blue streak in your hair popped against a sea of jet black, one moment passing to the next, I watched as curiosity enveloped your face, but curiosity and the moment were both quickly fleeting.

Mostly you were unbothered. No, not bothered by me or anything else in this shared space. I could tell by the (new) look on your face, there were more pressing things on your mind.

I watched as you walked passed me,

you were looking for something

so was I.

I wondered if I had that same look on my face as I explored this city, and then the next.

Where will I find myself?

Where will I find you?
